None of this was going to stand up to the new High Definition Cameras scheduled for the shoot, so Red Dwarf had to be re-worked. here are the photos of her condition before the refit. As Dwarf wasnt built to be dis-assemblable lots of really bad windows had to be scratched off back to the clear perspex and then a new (old) piece scavenged from the chopped midsection could be stuck over the top and the light would still pass through. Some windows were randomly unusable, so a strip of pre-sprayed styrene would be stuck over the top, or a "wigget". Some of the marker would come off with fine grade wire-wool. Unfortunately, towards the deadline, there wasnt much time for me to take lots of close up pictures of 'after' from these positions. before and after shots would have been worthwhile doing. When your mind is focussed on finishing and delivering to the set, its easy to forget about posterity. Suffice it to say, all the areas you see here had to be re-worked, some more than others.

Apart from the black marker, windows had other problems where the previous builders had left a scalpel mark as they removed masking tape after spraying. this allowed light leak and spoiled the line of the window. this occurred in a few isolated places, but not all, so suggests more than one person was involved with the demask.
Light-leaks had a pre-sprayed and weathered strip stuck over them. Lots of stuff wasnt square and so had to be re-stuck.
